Title: Interleukin-33 promotes type 1 cytokine expression via p38 MAPK in human natural killer cells Document date: 2019_9_20
ID: iuhhuy53_23
Snippet: The ability of type 2 cytokines to mediate IFN-ï§ release is not limited to IL-33. Past studies demonstrated that IL-4 enhance IFN-ï§ production in murine IL-12 and IL-15 stimulated NK cells 15, 38 . We also observed IL-4 or IL-13 enhancement of IL-12-induced IFN-ï§ production by human NK cells (D.O. and S.N.W. unpublished observations). Whereas IL-4 and IL-13 predominately signal via activation of STAT6, both cytokines appear capable of trigg.....
Document: The ability of type 2 cytokines to mediate IFN-ï§ release is not limited to IL-33. Past studies demonstrated that IL-4 enhance IFN-ï§ production in murine IL-12 and IL-15 stimulated NK cells 15, 38 . We also observed IL-4 or IL-13 enhancement of IL-12-induced IFN-ï§ production by human NK cells (D.O. and S.N.W. unpublished observations). Whereas IL-4 and IL-13 predominately signal via activation of STAT6, both cytokines appear capable of triggering the p38 MAPK pathway 39 . In fact, synergy between IL-4 and IL-12 in mouse NK cells is partially dependent on p38 MAPK 15 . Whether distinct type 2 cytokines enhance IL-12-induced IFN-ï§ production via similar or distinct mechanisms remains to be determined.
