All participants voluntarily participated in the study and were thus considered exempt from written informed consent. Study aim and objectives were clearly explained at the beginning of the survey. The inclusion criterion was participants aged 18 years who was living either in Jordan, Saudi Arabia or Kuwait. Participants were excluded if they were: a) below 18 years of age; or b) unable to understand Arabic language. . These questions were answered on a true/false basis with an additional "I don't know" option. A correct answer was given a score of one point, and any false or unknown answer was given a score of zero point. The total knowledge score could range from 0 to 12, with a higher score indicating a better knowledge about COVID-19. Cronbach's alpha coefficient of the knowledge questionnaire was 0.7 in our sample, showing acceptable internal consistency.
