The association of isolated renal mucormycosis in a patient with a history of COVID-19 infection is unknown. The immune dysregulation associated with COVID, along with the use of steroids, mechanical ventilation, and interleukin-6-directed therapies, predisposes to the development of mucormycosis. We report a rare case of primary renal mucormycosis in a young male following recovery from COVID-19. The unusual mode of presentation, rapidly progressive disease course, and the ensuing dilemmas in diagnosis and treatment merit critical analysis.
