Document: As the number of cases globally due to community transmission grows relative to the number of imported cases, attention has turned to more local measures to decrease spread, such as cancellations of mass gatherings, business closures, and local travel restrictions. 10 Mobility data can provide critical information for responding to outbreaks and understanding the impact of travel restrictions. 11 Recent studies have analyzed the effects of human mobility and travel restrictions on disease spread in China. 12, 13 Here, to prepare for COVID-19 and its impact, in collaboration with Facebook Data for Good, we describe the metapopulation models we've built that include human movement data to better understand the high risk areas of disease spread and assess the potential impact of local travel restrictions in Taiwan.
