Lesion volume significantly correlated with verbal paraphasias (semantically related, r=.34; unrelated=.41; all p<0.05 after multiple comparison correction) but not sound paraphasias (neologistic, r=.21; phonemic, r=-.05). AQ showed a similar pattern of correlation (neologistic, r=-.44; semantically related, r=-.32; unrelated, r=-.53; all p<0.05 after multiple comparison correction) but did not correlate with phonemic paraphasias (r=-.11). Lesion volume was significantly related to AQ (r=-.67, p<.001). For subsequent VLSM analyses, lesion volume was used as a covariate.
