Document: Affecting more than 170 countries, the coronavirus disease (COVID-19) has been declared by the World Health Organization (WHO) as a pandemic [16] . As of 12 April 2020, there are almost 1.7 million confirmed COVID-19 cases worldwide and about 4,500 cases in the Philippines [6, 9] . However, this number may not be an accurate representation of the total number of infected individuals in the Philippines because of its selective testing programs due to the limited availability of test kits [10] . Only those who are considered "patients under investigation" (PUI) are qualified to be tested. These are persons with severe symptoms such as fever and/or respiratory syndrome, history of travel in the past 14 days to countries with local transmission and history of exposure with a confirmed case [8] .
