Snippet: The CS task group showed significant correlations between paraphasia proportions and apraxia of speech severity (neologistic, r=.71, p<.001; phonemic, r=.57, p<.001; unrelated, r=.32, p=.01). There were no significant correlations between any paraphasia type with age or months post-stroke (all r < .04). Both lesion volume (neologistic, r=.37; phonemic, r=.39; semantically related, r=.29; unrelated, r=.66) and AQ (neologistic, r=-.55; phonemic, r=.....
Document: The CS task group showed significant correlations between paraphasia proportions and apraxia of speech severity (neologistic, r=.71, p<.001; phonemic, r=.57, p<.001; unrelated, r=.32, p=.01). There were no significant correlations between any paraphasia type with age or months post-stroke (all r < .04). Both lesion volume (neologistic, r=.37; phonemic, r=.39; semantically related, r=.29; unrelated, r=.66) and AQ (neologistic, r=-.55; phonemic, r=-.42; semantically related=-.33; unrelated, r=-.62) were significantly related to paraphasia proportion (all p<0.05 after multiple comparison correction). Lesion volume was significantly related to AQ (r=-.73, p<.001). For subsequent VLSM analyses, lesion volume was used as a covariate, and for phonemic, neologistic and unrelated paraphasias, apraxia of speech severity was also used as a covariate.
