Title: Neural organization of speech production: A lesion-based study of error patterns in connected speech Document date: 2019_2_8

Snippet: Results of the VLSM analysis for the PNT task group, looking at paraphasias types during naming, did not result in significant clusters of damage associated with sound errors (neologistic, phonemic). Document: Results of the VLSM analysis for the PNT task group, looking at paraphasias types during naming, did not result in significant clusters of damage associated with sound errors (neologistic, phonemic). However, lesion damage associated with verbal paraphasias (semantically related, unrelated) was comparable to lesion damage associated with verbal paraphasias in the CS task group. Semantically related paraphasias significantly associated with damage to left hemisphere posterior superior, middle and inferior temporal gyri, extending anteriorly into middle, superior and temporal gyri and underlying white matter (superior longitudinal fasciculus). Unrelated paraphasias significantly associated with damage to left hemisphere posterior middle and inferior temporal gyrus and extending anteriorly into middle and inferior temporal gyri and underlying white matter (superior longitudinal fasciculus, inferior longitudinal fasciculus, and inferior fronto-occipital fasciculus).
