The delivery of appropriate, expert, and equitable healthcare services underpinned by respect, negotiation, partnership, and informed consensual decision-making would then align with the guarantee of tino rangātiratanga (self-determination) made within Aotearoa New Zealand's founding document, Te Tiriti o Waitangi.
