Releasing official information on newly confirmed cases at the daily level as well as exchanging information via social media throughout China may promote more timely actions to slowdown virus transmissions. Comparing containment effects over time, in the first half sample, one new infection leads to 1.966 more cases within a week, implying a fast growth in the number of cases.
