The linear dynamic range for SARS-CoV-2 S1 and SARS-CoV S1 is 0.4-1000 ng/mL and 0.2-250 ng/mL with a slope of 0.89 and 0.92 (in the log-log scale), respectively. According to Figures 3(B) and (C), the detection of SARS-CoV S1 appears to have a higher sensitivity than SARS-CoV-2 S1. This is because both of antibodies (D001 and D003) used in this assay were originally raised against the RBD of SARS-CoV S1. A higher sensitivity in detecting SARS-CoV-2 S1 protein may be achieved in the future with the antibodies specifically developed against the S1 protein (or S1 RBD) of SARS-CoV-2.
