Their structures were established by detailed spectroscopic analyses. Phenanthrenes ( 12- 14) exhibited antibacterial activities against gram-positive bacteria Staphylococcus aureus, S. epidermidis, and Bacillus subtilis, with MIC values of 12.5-25 µg/mL.
