Document: In the sphere of healthcare, the Internet of Things (IoT) plays a critical role. Senior citizens over the age of 65 are currently confined to their homes under the present COVID-19 circumstance. Only when their health deteriorates are they admitted to a hospital. This predicament motivated us to come up with the notion of using IoT to remotely check their health and take the necessary precautions. This research proposes a way for monitoring older persons' health in real-time while they are in nursing homes. This geriatric health monitoring system is designed to keep track of a senior citizen's pulse rate, temperature, and electrocardiogram. Simultaneously, the air quality in the room is checked. A cough detection system has also been introduced, which can detect typical respiratory disease signs. Patients wear networked sensor devices, which enable the real-time display of all data provided by the sensors. This information is also entered into databases. It allows healthcare practitioners and caregivers to assess the health of elderly patients even when they are separated by great distances. As a result, the proposed system can assist them in seeking immediate medical attention. © 2021 IEEE.
