Snippet: Objectives: Vitamin D monitoring, important in people with cystic fibrosis (pwCF), is particularly relevant since deficiency is a known risk factor for COVID-19 infection. However, opportunity for treatment adjustments during face-to-face clinic appointments for pwCF was disrupted in 2020 due to shielding restrictions. Document: Objectives: Vitamin D monitoring, important in people with cystic fibrosis (pwCF), is particularly relevant since deficiency is a known risk factor for COVID-19 infection. However, opportunity for treatment adjustments during face-to-face clinic appointments for pwCF was disrupted in 2020 due to shielding restrictions. We looked at the effect of shielding on vitamin D status management during the COVID-19 pandemic in 2020. Methods: We collated the most recent vitamin D blood results from patients’ electronic records (135 in 2019,187 in 2020), reviewing treatment when levels were <50 nmol/L (<20 ng/ml). Results: [Table Presented] 35 (26%) in 2019 and 32 (17%) patients in 2020 had vitamin D levels below 50 mmol/l (20 ng/ml). A similar proportion of patients received dietetic review/amendment of vitamin D treatment in 2020 (68%) as in 2019 (68.5%). A greater proportion of patients received communication of their vitamin D status via annual screen reports in 2020 (54.8) than 2019 (28.7%). Conclusion: Despite limitation of face-to-face contact, adjustments in CF dietetic care were successful in maintaining the treatment of low vitamin D status amongst our pwCF.
