As with all Chinese cities, strict social distancing measures and contact tracing and quarantine protocols were implemented since late January in Guangzhou, which resulted in much smaller outbreak size than Wuhan. Describing and comparing the resource needs in both cities may serve as benchmarks to help other large metropolises in the world prepare for potential outbreaks.
