Snippet: The error in the filtration efficiency was split into two different types: error introduced by variations in the fit of the mask and error introduced by the particle counter set up. Error from the fit was addressed by refitting the mask 3-4 times and calculating the standard deviation from the mean of the measurements. Error from the particle counter setup was found by taking 2-3 measurements in steady state per mask fitting and calculating the s.....
Document: The error in the filtration efficiency was split into two different types: error introduced by variations in the fit of the mask and error introduced by the particle counter set up. Error from the fit was addressed by refitting the mask 3-4 times and calculating the standard deviation from the mean of the measurements. Error from the particle counter setup was found by taking 2-3 measurements in steady state per mask fitting and calculating the standard deviation from the mean of the measurements. The total error in the filtration efficiency was found through quadrature. The error in the masks' masses in Fig. 2 was found through the difference in mask mass before and after the efficiency measurement (this difference is due to some of the adsorbed water being removed by airflow during testing).
