Notably, even if serum HBV-DNA cannot be detected after treatment, many patients will still develop liver disease. Therefore, in addition to the quantitative analysis of HBV-DNA and HBsAg, other new serological markers should be sought to facilitate the selection of CHB antiviral drugs and methods, monitoring efficacy and follow-up, efficacy prediction, and the risks of viral rebound after drug withdrawal. This article focuses on three new serological markers, namely HBcrAg, HBV-RNA and anti-HBc, with a view to applying them in clinical practice.
