Document: The anticipated impact of the COVID19 pandemic on mental health is expected to be significant but has not been included in current models. To address this gap, the present study makes a rapid model-projection concerning the years of life lost (YLL) if restrictive social mitigation measures are implemented for a period of 3 months. This duration was chosen as aligns with the expected duration of social mitigation in many countries. We use data from Switzerland as an exemplar. The model focuses on what we consider to be the major contributors to YLL affecting the majority of the population, primarily, suicide, emergence or increase in psychopathology, strain on partnerships and continued restriction of movement and at home confinement.
