Document: The world went into a standstill when the news of a global pandemic (Coronavirus Disease-19) caused by the Severe Acute Respiratory Syndrome Coronavirus 2 Virus was announced by the World Health Organization. In this chapter, we present a detailed investigation of the spread of COVID-19 in India, its neighboring countries, and other global hotspots. We also analyze the worst-hit states of India with respect to the rise in Confirmed cases and Death cases due to COVID-19 and investigate the growth factor of the same. We then build a Support Vector Machine for Regression analysis of confirmed cases in India and predict the future confirmed cases by analyzing the current growth curve. Our work finally extends to discuss the need for future research to find out the consequences of the COVID-19 crisis in areas of Economy, Agriculture, Health, Education, Secondary sector, and Service Sector.
