We recommend other institutes seeking to replicate our work check on supply chain availability before committing to a particular collection kit. **Note: COPAN COVID-19 collection kits use universal transport medium (UTM). To protect our volunteers, we have chosen to create our own collection kits, which we are supplying to the collection sites. These kits comprise OP flocked swabs and empty tubes preloaded with DNA/RNA Shield. DNA/RNA Shield preserves the genetic integrity and expression profiles of samples at ambient temperatures and completely inactivates infectious agents (viruses, bacteria, fungi, and parasites). Additionally, DNA/RNA Shield protects the sample during freezing, so that samples can be stored in case further testing is needed. Table 1 .
