Document: Society failed to manage the risk of SARS-CoV-2 spilling from wildlife to people, and 5 most countries are now struggling to reduce person-to-person spread. However, our analysis suggests countries can also mitigate overall risk by planning for and managing the consequences of infection. Developing these strategies necessitates identifying the consequences of infection at the community level. This involves understanding optimal resource allocation within hospitals and factors that influence hospital labor and materials supply (12, 13) . It also means planning 10 policies to respond to the exposure of sections of the broader labor force to COVID-19 complications.
