Snippet: This review presents a survey of recent advances in the emergent discipline of networked metapopulation epidemiology, which is organized as follows. Section 2 introduces some preliminaries of the compartment model, network epidemiology, and networked metapopulation, and also elucidates their relevance. Section 3 specifies the validity of networked metapopulation. Section 4 focuses on the recent progresses on metapopulation dynamics. The applicati.....

Section 2 introduces some preliminaries of the compartment model, network epidemiology, and networked metapopulation, and also elucidates their relevance. Section 3 specifies the validity of networked metapopulation. Section 4 focuses on the recent progresses on metapopulation dynamics. The application in evaluating the performance of intervention strategies is presented in Section 5, and some outlooks are provided at last. models have been proposed [3, 4] . The compartment model is one of the simplest yet basic epidemic models, which was first introduced by Bernoulli [5] in the 18th century.
