Systemic analysis of tissue cells potentially vulnerable to SARS-CoV-2 infection by the protein-proofed single-cell RNA profiling of ACE2, TMPRSS2 and Furin proteases

Moreover, we observed that the expression of the ACE2 genes in intestine and kidney was at the top level ( Figure 4D, E) . But interestingly, the expression level of the TMPRSS2 and Furin genes in the kidney were not remarkable ( Figure 4D ), which is inconsistent with the IHC results ( Figure 2D ). In addition, the highly expression of the ACE2 and Furin genes were found in cardiomyocytes ( Figure 4B ), which fits well with the IHC result ( Figure 2B) . What's more, the superior expression of the ACE2 genes was also shown in the cells of fetal adrenal gland, specifically in HLC and epithelial cells, following the significant expression of the TMPRSS2 and author/funder.
