Close contact (those who stayed in a cabin room with an infected) and non-close contact or others (those who stayed in a cabin room without an infected) "Non-close contact" and "Passengers in cabins without a confirmed case" in the MHLW and NIID datasets referred to as "the first confirmed case in each cabin". The "passengers with close contact" in the dataset of Prof Nishiura seems to refer to "passengers in the infected cabins" (Takashita, personal communication) . This explains that the number of close contact by Prof Nishiura was larger than MHLW and NIID if the second case was confirmed in each cabin.
