[58] show that significant reductions in triglyceride and ApoD levels are detected in infants who subsequently became ill in the postnatal period with problems relating to carbohydrate metabolism (e.g., infants of diabetic mothers). Together these clinical data suggest that apoD is another significant player in lipid metabolism. ApoD dysregulation may contribute to metabolic abnormalities in insulin resistant subjects with obesity and/or type 2 diabetes.
