Snippet: To better understand the genetic relatedness of Cangyuan virus to other known bat-borne orthoreoviruses, the published sequences for the S genome segment of bat-borne orthoreoviruses known for causing acute respiratory disease in humans were retrieved from GenBank and used to compare homology (Table 3 and Additional file 2: Table S2 ) and construct phylogenetic trees (Figure 4 ). The Cangyuan virus S1-S4 segments sequence identity were 55.3%-94.7.....
Document: To better understand the genetic relatedness of Cangyuan virus to other known bat-borne orthoreoviruses, the published sequences for the S genome segment of bat-borne orthoreoviruses known for causing acute respiratory disease in humans were retrieved from GenBank and used to compare homology (Table 3 and Additional file 2: Table S2 ) and construct phylogenetic trees (Figure 4 ). The Cangyuan virus S1-S4 segments sequence identity were 55.3%-94.7%, 86.2%-95.5%, 86.5%-97.9%%, and 83.5%-98.2%, respectively ( Table 3 and Additional file 2: Table S2 ). The S1 segment demonstrated a greater heterogeneity than other S segments in Pteropine orthoreovirus (PRV) species group.
