Snippet: The above results showed that autophagy contributes to AS's effect. Thirdly, the influence of AS on autophagy-related molecules was further investigated herein. The markers such as the conversion of microtubule associated protein 1 light chain 3 (LC3B-I) (18 kDa) to LC3B-II (16 kDa) and the accumulation of ATG5 were selected to evaluated autophagy activity (Schaaf, Keulers, Vooijs & Rouschop, 2016) . Document: The above results showed that autophagy contributes to AS's effect. The results showed that LPS treatment increased LC3B-II and ATG5 in a dose-dependent manner (Figure 5e1) , consistent with the results that LPS induced pro-inflammatory cytokines release in a dose-dependent manner ( Figure 2a ). This further indicated that LPS-induced cytokine release is autophagy involved.
