Title: Intranasal DNA Vaccine for Protection against Respiratory Infectious Diseases: The Delivery Perspectives Document date: 2014_7_10
ID: 0bma2749_24
Snippet: To overcome these barriers, a safe and efficient DNA delivery system must be developed. Ideally such delivery system should target the mucosal APCs for antigens processing that lead to specific B and T cell activation. The ultimate goals of DNA delivery systems are to facilitate the uptake of DNA to the target tissues and cells, protect DNA from enzymatic degradation, increase the residence time of the formulation in the nasal cavity, enhance the.....
Document: To overcome these barriers, a safe and efficient DNA delivery system must be developed. Ideally such delivery system should target the mucosal APCs for antigens processing that lead to specific B and T cell activation. The ultimate goals of DNA delivery systems are to facilitate the uptake of DNA to the target tissues and cells, protect DNA from enzymatic degradation, increase the residence time of the formulation in the nasal cavity, enhance the expression of the antigens and to increase the immune response without compromising safety. The different DNA vaccine delivery systems currently being investigated for intranasal administration are discussed in detail in Section 5.
