Silver nanoparticles may interact with the surface of Gram-negative bacteria such as E. coli, especially in the range of 1-10 nm, disturbing its functioning and producing a bactericidal effect [57] . Using this principle, E. coli bacteria were decorated with silver nanoparticles around 10 nm in diameter due to the high affinity of silver nanoparticles to the surface of the bacteria. The chronoamperometric response of the silver nanoparticles was measured using a carbon fiber electrode. The E. coli concentration on the sample may be correlated with the amperometric response [56] .
