This nanohybrid system provides a significant enhancement of the Raman signal, increasing the method's sensitivity. In addition, the near-infrared (NIR) irradiation of this nanohybrid system produces bacterial death and selectively eradicates 99% of the bacteria [38] . Also, nanoprobes prepared by the immobilization of a specific monoclonal antibody onto the surface of nanoparticle beds, a microfluidic electrophoresis device and on-line SERS have been developed for the rapid detection of Salmonella enterica and Neisseria lactamica with high sensitivity and specificity [22] .
