Snippet: The change in expression of a small number of genes in NuKO cells could potentially promote cancer. For example, reduced expression of early B-cell factor 1 (EBF1) has been found in Hodgkin lymphoma and appears to contribute to the loss of B-cell phenotype and consequent malignancy [123] . There is also evidence for a tumor suppressor role in mouse leukemia [124] . It is down-regulated 38-fold. Expression of the TNF family member CD70 is normally.....
Document: The change in expression of a small number of genes in NuKO cells could potentially promote cancer. Expression of the TNF family member CD70 is normally restricted to activated T and B-cells but it is activated in a wide variety of tumors where it promotes tumor cell expansion and survival [125] . It is up-regulated 17-fold. Finally, type II transglutaminase (TGM2) is up-regulated 10-fold in NuKO cells and may have an important role in maintaining survival, invasion and the metastatic behavior of a variety of tumors and cancer stem cells [126] while sphingosine-1-phosphate phosphatase 2 (SGPP2, up 63-fold) may be a target for the tumor suppressor miRNA-31 [127] .
