Document: As such, perceived sensitivity to infection was different depending on general characteristics, which subsequently led to differences in attitudes to or the practice of preventive behaviors. However, despite the absence of the characteristics that predispose to infection sensitivity, preventive behaviors against infection could be promoted by conferring a certain degree of risk perception. Communication strategies could be also developed for each group to improve the awareness of the health threat and the practice of recommended preventive behaviors. For example, vulnerable families with a low risk perception on the infection could receive tailored information to increase the awareness and perceived severity of the infection and to emphasize their practice of preventive behaviors. It would be helpful if people with low or no risk perception could be improved through the communication strategy targeting significant others such as family members and women.
