Reston virus (RESTV), the only member of the fifth ebolavirus species, causes disease in NHP but has so far not been associated with disease in humans. Moreover, RESTV infection of pigs and bats has been documented [1, 2] . The genome of Lloviu virus (LLOV), the only virus within the species Lloviu cuevavirus, genus Cuevavirus, has been detected in dead bats (Miniopteris schreibersii) in Northern Spain [3] , its potential to infect humans is unknown.
