Document: Vero cells and DF1 cells were cultured in Dulbecco's modified Eagle's medium (DMEM, Life Technologies, Carlsbad, CA, USA) supplemented with 10% fetal bovine serum (FBS), penicillin (final concentration 100 U/mL), and streptomycin (final concentration 100 μg/mL). A549 cells were cultured in F-12K medium (Life Technologies) supplemented with 10% fetal bovine serum (FBS). All cells were purchased from American Type Culture Collection and incubated at 37˚C in a 5% CO 2 environment. IBV Beaudette strain [32] was passaged in Vero cells. Viral stocks were stored at -80˚C prior to use. The 50% tissue culture infective doses (TCID 50 ) of viral stocks were calculated by Reed-Muench method.
