The SARS-CoV X-domain (Nsp3b), the domain immediately preceding the SUD in Nsp3, shares no recognizable sequence identity with SUD-N (12%) or SUD-M (7%) ( Figure 2C ), but its three-dimensional structure [22, 23] (PDB code 2ACF, chain A) can be superimposed onto each of the two SUD subdomains with an r.m.s.d. (based on Ca atoms) of 2.7 Ã… and 2.3 Ã… , respectively ( Figure 2D ). Thus, within Nsp3, SARS-CoV has three macrodomains aligned one after the other.
