Homogenization was performed using an automatic TissueLyser II (Qiagen, Redwood City, USA) and Tungsten Carbide Beads 3 mm (Qiagen) followed by centrifugation at 10,000 x g for 5 min. All mosquito suspensions were stored at -80°C until processed.
