Moreover, the transcription factor SMAD4 was identified as a transcriptional regulator of the exonic miR-1306, but this process is not independent of its host gene DGCR8. Our findings also reveal a feedback mechanism of the classical TGF-β/SMAD signaling pathway ( Figure 6D ) and provide novel insights into feedback regulation within the classical TGF-β/SMAD signaling pathway.
