Recently, the analysis of lung transcriptome in mice infected with SARS-CoV or influenza A virus has revealed differential expression of 30 small RNAs overlapping with annotated snoRNAs. Two putative snoR-NAs differentially regulated by respiratory virus infection were found in GAS5 locus [84] . Intriguing, GAS5 intronic snoRNAs U44, U76, and U78 were found to be upregulated in human cells infected with chikungunya virus [79] . It can be speculated that GAS5 intronic snoRNAs may be involved in the regulation of T-cell growth [85] .
