In early May 2015, a case of zoonotic MERS-CoV infection was imported to South Korea. The hospitalization of this case initiated an outbreak of secondary infections, causing more than 180 additional cases in Asia (Table 4 ). The South Korea epidemic subsided in July 2015, while an outbreak of 130 cases was reported in Saudi Arabia in August 2015.
