Figure 3 shows the expression of ACE2 mRNA in identified cell types. The highest number of ACE2-positive cells included the goblet cells, ciliary epithelial cells, endothelial cells, and type I pneumocytes (AT1 cells). There were also sporadic positive cells in the club cell category.
