Detection of EBV DNA might also be useful in patients in whom a brain biopsy is not possible to do. On the other hand, detection of EBV DNA in CSF also provides a marker to monitor the response to treatment for CNS lymphomas. EBV DNA can be detected by conventional PCR [58] , by in situ hybridization [59] and also more recently has been introduced real-time PCR assays to detect EBV DNA from CNS lymphomas [60] .
