Snippet: Fasting or feeding did not affect plasma adrenocorticotropin hormone (ACTH) concentrations at 0 (P = 0.968) or 10 minute (P = 0.598) in the TRH stimulation test. Baseline (time 0) ACTH concentrations did not differ (P = 0.167) when TRH stimulation tests were performed alone (fasted) or in combination with the OST. Document: Fasting or feeding did not affect plasma adrenocorticotropin hormone (ACTH) concentrations at 0 (P = 0.968) or 10 minute (P = 0.598) in the TRH stimulation test. Baseline (time 0) ACTH concentrations did not differ (P = 0.167) when TRH stimulation tests were performed alone (fasted) or in combination with the OST. Plasma ACTH concentrations increased after TRH administration in all tests, but were lower at 10 minute (P = 0.004) in the combined test, compared to the TRH stimulation test (fasted); with a mean bias of 26 pg/mL (95% confidence interval; À60 to 111 pg/mL) detected.
