Antiviral and Anti-Inflammatory Activities of Pochonin D, a Heat Shock Protein 90 Inhibitor, against Rhinovirus Infection

Hsp90 inhibitors also have potent anti-inflammatory and anti-oxidative actions in vascular tissues (Hsu et al., 2007) . Hsp90 inhibitors were shown to extend survival, attenuate inflammation, and reduce lung injury in murine sepsis (Chatterjee et al., 2007) . Hsp90 was also suggested to participate induced by HRV1B infection. Mice were infected with 10 8 pfu/30 μl pfu HRV1B intranasally. Pochonin D treatment was performed twice, before and after virus infection. Eight hours after infection, the lung was isolated and histological analysis was performed as described in the Materials and Methods section.
