Autumn Harris 1 , Amara Estrada 1 , Alexander Gallagher 1 , Brandy Mincey 1 , Kenneth Lamb 2 , Mary Bohannon 1 , Jancy Hanscom 3 , Celine Mainville 3 . 1 University of Florida, Gainesville, Fl, USA, 2 Lamb Consulting, West Saint Paul, MN, USA, 3 IDEXX Laboratories, Inc., Westbrook, ME, USA N-terminal proBNP is increased in humans, dogs and cats with various cardiac disorders. It has been shown to distinguish healthy cats from those with subclinical disease and congestive heart failure from respiratory disease in dyspneic cats. The biological variability of NT-proBNP and impact on the diagnostic utility of the biomarker is unknown in both healthy cats and those with cardiac disease. The purpose of this study was to determine the biological variation of NT-proBNP within day and week-to-week in healthy adult cats.
