In animals submitted to UTM was found only a slight increase in serum glucose levels at the end of surgery. Introduction: Rapamycin is an antifungal antibiotic agent that has immunosuppressant and anti-cancer properties. By inhibiting mTOR, rapamycin acts as an anti-proliferative and anti-angiogenic agent. The purpose of this pilot study was to determine the blood concentrations of rapamycin achieved following a single dose and multiple oral doses in the dog.
