Tumor cells rely on glycolysis, rather than mitochondrial oxidative phosphorylation, for energy production even under oxygen-rich conditions, which is termed as "Warburg effect". Since Warburg effect is characteristic for tumor cells, glucose metabolism is considered to be a therapeutic target in this regard. In this study, we investigated the contribution of glucose transporters on the cell growth of canine melanoma.
