Similar symptoms to those of H1N1 had been experienced by 5.0% of the participants (4.5% of men and 5.4% of women). High perceived effectiveness was reported by 46.2%, and high anxiety by 21.4% of the participants. Of the 3462 participants, 173 (5.0%) had experienced symptoms similar to those of H1N1 in the past 12 months, and 36 had physicianconfirmed H1N1 (Figure 1 ).
