Document: The RC not only stores, integrates and disseminates data, but also provides data visualization and analysis tools. The RC allows Boolean searches of all proteins and experimental results and provides options for batch retrieval of data by a large variety of protein-related identifiers (http://pir.georgetown.edu/pirwww/proteomics/index. shtml#MPD). In addition, a variety of protein analysis tools are provided to allow further analysis of search results (e.g. BLAST, peptide match, etc.). Search results are linked to the underlying experiment data allowing data type specific analysis and visualization. To illustrate these capabilities, two data analysis tools are described subsequently.
