Document: These data document relevant variability of DE estimates of PH that deserve clinical consideration. Survival time in cats with congestive heart failure (CHF) is variable, and predictors of outcome would be useful to help guide treatment and patient assessment. In people with CHF, the change in NT-proBNP concentrations after initiating treatment and/or targeting NT-proBNP concentrations below an absolute level provide valuable information that can be used to help guide treatment. The change in NT-proBNP concentrations in cats with CHF after treatment and their association with survival have not been reported. Therefore, the purpose of this study was to measure the change in NT-proBNP in cats with CHF after treatment and to determine whether serial NT-proBNP measurements provide prognostic information in this population.
